2021 UK Music Legends The Who CERTIFIED BU £5

The Who feature on a UK coin for the FIRST TIME EVER!

It has just been announced a new UK £5 coin has been issued, featuring one of Britain’s most iconic bands, The Who!

The Who defined Britain’s unique and explosive rock sound in the 1960s and have since gone on to become an integral part of our nation’s soundtrack for over 50 years.

It is therefore a fitting tribute that the band has been chosen as the next act to take centre stage in The Royal Mint’s Music Legend £5 series.

The Design

Designed by artist Henry Gray, the coin’s design includes a Union Jack flag, mod logo, and a Rickenbacker guitar. And, in a nod to one of the band’s most famous songs ‘Pinball Wizard’ from their album and film Tommy, the coin design comes together to form a fantastic pinball table.

Celebrating The Who’s rock and roll story, the dynamic £5 coin is set to prove a real hit with collectors and music fans alike.
