There are three 'Royal' Mints – the UK’s Royal Mint, the Royal Canadian Mint and the Royal Australian Mint. For royalty collectors, they represent the flagship issuing authorities. Conversely, for the Royal Mints the Queen is their most collected subject.

And that’s why this issue is so important.

The UK’s Royal Mint released 15,000 Silver Proof £5 Coins. The Royal Canadian Mint set its issue at 7,500 pieces.

But the Royal Australian Mint ONLY authorised 5,000 Pure Silver Proof Coins. This tiny number of coins proved to not be enough, as it has long since sold out at the Mint.
