To mark the 150th Anniversary of the Rugby Football Union, 5 Silver Proof £2 coins were issued by the Jersey Treasury. 

The coins feature five specially commissioned £2 coin designs, including:

• Official RFU 150th Anniversary Rose Logo
• Conversion
• Scrum
• Tackle
• Try

Each coin has been struck from .925 solid Silver to a pristine Proof finish with the addition of vivid colour to bring the scenes to life.

Proof coins are individually struck with the punch hitting the blank several times to create the perfect, flawless “Proof” finish, and also create maximum contrast between the frosted design and perfect mirror-like background of the coin. It’s this superior quality that makes Proof coins more sought after amongst serious collectors.
