Race Into History With The Original TT Champion Crown
In 1997, the Isle of Man issued a Crown to mark one of the most historic events in motorsport - the 90th anniversary of the first ever Tourist Trophy (TT) Race.
The coin pays tribute to Charlie Collier, the winner of the inaugural 1907 TT. He is shown mid-race, riding his Matchless motorcycle, in a dynamic reverse design that captures the grit and energy of early road racing on the island. The image is framed by laurel branches and accompanied by the dates 1907-1997.
The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, designed by Raphael Maklouf.
This issue is a must-have for TT fans and collectors, celebrating a milestone in British motorsport and honouring one of its original legends. It is available for just £15 (+p&p) - a great-value addition to any Tourist Trophy or numismatic collection, and a lasting tribute to the origins of the world’s most famous road race.
