FROM THE ARCHIVE - RAF 617 Squadron Limited Edition 22 Carat Gold Collector Card

Over 80 years ago, nineteen Lancaster Bombers from 617 Squadron took off from RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire to participate in the most daring of missions - Operation Chastise. Or as it has become known The Dambusters Raid.

Officially approved by the RAF, this limited edition Collector Card includes four Royal Mail First Class Union Flag stamps with accompanying labels featuring ‘The Opening Shots’, the superb Dambuster painting by Mark Postlethwaite, and the 617 Squadron badge. The stamps have been officially postmarked by Royal Mail on 29th June - Armed Forces Day 2013.
