ARCHIVE RELEASE - UK 2022 Commonwealth Games Silver Proof 50p
The Commonwealth Games Silver Proof 50p is now completely sold out at The Royal Mint.
I have uncovered a final 38 coins in our archive stock - and I am prepared to release them to collectors while they remain available.
Issued to celebrate the Commonwealth Games returning to England for only the third time, the coin honours the Games’ remarkable sporting history and the unity of Commonwealth nations around the world.
Just 4,000 Silver Proof coins were authorised for release worldwide - an exceptionally limited edition for an official UK sporting coin. It is little surprise that this coin is now sold out.
Struck from Sterling Silver to The Royal Mint’s highest Proof standard, the coin features selective colour which brings the official Games emblem vividly to life.
Only 38 archive examples remain at the official Royal Mint price. Once these have been allocated, no further stock will be available.
